Presented by Nonsequitur. This tribute to the brilliant Butch Morris, who passed away earlier this year, features two of his close friends and colleagues – Wayne Horvitz (Seattle) and JA Deane (New Mexico) – using the conduction techniques developed and pioneered by Morris with the Royal Room Collective Music Ensemble, featuring some of Seattle’s finest improvisers: Ivan Arteaga, Sam Boshnack, Ryan Burns, Chris Credit, Eric Eagle, Beth Fleenor, Craig Flory, Geoff Harper, Jacob Herring, Al Keith, Steve O’Brien, Christian Pincock, Naomi Siegel, and Jacob Zimmerman.
About
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics. Watch a video clip about us on the Seattle Channel.
