Violinist James Garlick and pianist Judith Cohen present a recital of 20th century masterpieces. The program features Charles Ives’ Sonata No. 2 (1902-1910) and Bartok’s last published work, his monumental Sonata for Solo Violin (1944). Also on the program are Corigliano’s Selections from the Red Violin Caprices (2001), Debussy’s Sonata for Violin and Piano (1916-1917), and JS Bach’s D minor Chaconne.
About
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
